He saw us and gave us one of his big smiles, an enthusiastic "Hey!", and a big hug, letting us know how glad he was to see us. Little did any of us know at that time that it would be our last visit. We will always remember Scott's special laugh and the sparkle in his eyes. It is so hard to believe that he is really gone but I am so glad the terrible pain is also gone. Thank you so much Kay for all you did for him through the very rapid end of a very special life. We are thinking of you all with much love.
Sandy McKee Mahnken (cousin) and Bill MahnkenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450061648126809792.post-19021832169637901482009-12-31T16:51:19.114-08:002009-12-31T16:51:19.114-08:00Please also remember to keep Kay McKee in you thou...Please also remember to keep Kay McKee in you thoughts and prayers. Scott and Kay were married 6 years ago and she helped Scott through this difficult part of his life. Lola is doing better. Although the Drs want her to take it a little easy. The store will reopen on Monday the 11th as planned. We thank everyone who has expressed their symphony and have offered their help. From the family, thank you all. He meant a lot to Madison Park, the store, the family, and I'm going to miss him so much. Everyone is. He was helping customers and working almost up until the end.

Thank you for the post; it proves again why Madison Park is such a wonderful neighborhood, because people care. They know each other. Someone left a lit candle and a white flower by the back door of the store on Monday. We all got choked up. Thank you.

-KelliKellinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450061648126809792.post-82599595105325697142009-12-30T11:09:23.964-08:002009-12-30T11:09:23.964-08:00I am very saddened and sad to read about Scott'...I am very saddened and sad to read about Scott's passing.
