Madison Park will be the finish line again this year for the 33rd Annual Shore Run/Walk to benefit immunotherapy research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. There will actually be three races on that Sunday morning: a 10K Run (beginning at 9 am at Ferdinand Street Park, near Seward park), a 5K Run/Walk (beginning at 8:15 am at Leschi) and a Half-Mile Kids Run (beginning in the Park at 10:15 am). All of this will be followed by a Party-in-the-Park at Bert’s, with food, music, and drawings for prizes.
Those interested in participating should check out the Shore Run website for details and information about registering. There will be shuttle busses to each of the starting points from Madison Park between 6:30 and 8:15 am.
Park residents should note that in addition to the fact that there will be a lot of cars descending on the neighborhood early that morning, traffic will be delayed at times to facilitate the racers/walkers. But it’s all in a good cause.
